Famster - Protect, Share, Organize, Fun

Here's something new ... I'm surprised I haven't heard of it before. In fact, I searched and couldn't find one news item on it. Famster (a family-oriented hamster is their mascot) allows you to Protect (your family with the most secure technology on the Internet today), Share (your families photos, video and memories safely and securely), Organize (all your important family events, dates, lists and more), Fun (famster fun is what you'll have when you join famster).

It's obvious this is a family-oriented site. You set up an account with a family Surname (or at least I was able to get mine; I'm sure the Smith family will have a problem). Besides blogging, unloading photos, a file cabinet (but with only a measly 50MB of storage), you can even search for sex offenders in your area.

You can store recipes, a scrapbook, get news feeds, set up a character studio (avatars for friends and family), calendars, even a family tree. Under the "coming soon" area of the site is instant messaging that allows you to approve those your kids message with, a shared family calendar and a shared image library (right now images for different parts, or components, as they are called, need to be uploaded separately for each component.

I'd recommend you take a look at this. It's still pretty early, as news about it hasn't really hit yet. Not sure how it will scale when people really start to sign up.
