GTA IV for the PC Announced; Engines Rev on Nov. 18th

It was only a matter of time, right? Today Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games announced that Grand Theft Auto IV will be reaching PCs in advance of Christmas (now if only we could get a similar announcement about StarCraft 2).

Take-Two's financial results showed that by early June, GTA IV had sold 8.5 million units worldwide --- and that was with only PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. Now, with the PC added, EA's going to be even more anxious to get their hands on Take-Two (EA keeps extending the deadline for their offer).

In a press release, Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games said:

"We are very excited to be releasing the PC version of Grand Theft Auto IV. The whole team is dedicated to bringing an amazing gaming experience to the PC. The game looks and plays beautifully on PC and we can't wait for people to play it."
And here's something to get your trigger finger itchy: "newly expanded multiplayer just for the PC." Whatever that means, but it's gotta be good.

While sales news has been great, other news about GTA IV hasn't been so positive: a recent murder in Thailand has been blamed on the game (although the link is somewhat questionable).

North America gets the game Nov. 18th, as noted above; the U.K. will see it on Nov. 21st.
