Kogan, the Second Android Phone, Gets Some Pre-Release Tweaks
The Kogan, the second phone supporting the Android OS from Google, is scheduled to ship on January 29th, but only 1 1/2 months away, it seems to be getting some tweaks. Since Kogan, as I wrote earlier, is a small online-only outfit, this might lead you to wonder if you should wait until it ships and you see the reviews.
The Kogan Agora and Agora Pro will sell for AU$299 and AU$399, respectively. In US$, that's $193 and $258.
If you look at the images above (new on the left, original on the right) you'll note a few changes. the left and right soft keys are gone, replaced by Home and Back keys. The directional pad looks different as well, and the keyboard's undergone minor changes (look carefully).
While the price (unlocked, after all) and the style (decidedly Samsung Blackjack-ish) is appealing to me, I'm concerned about ordering from such a small firm. Plus I'm not going to ditch my iPhone 3G anyway. But I'll be looking for the reviews, when they come out.
