Asus Shows Fold / Unfold Laptop Sharing Concept

This is just a concept, so there's no guarantee it will ever see the light of day, so don't get too excited yet. On the other hand the Asus Bamboo was just a concept, too (though in final form heat management forced a loss of a lot of the wood). Asus calls it Fold /Unfold, and it's based, apparently, on origami.

One part of the concept is the folding itself. The laptop can be folded from flat into a "standard" shape and even into a binder-like shape. Check out some pics here.

But that's just the start. When in close proximity to each other, the laptops can even share computing resources. There's a flat-sharing mode (above), and an interaction mode (which reminds me more of "Battleship." But it's really about two people working together on a project.

Finally, there's a multi-user mode, which involves multiple laptops and is really about collaboration.

Interesting concept. The collaborative portions of it are easy to describe, but the actual folding / unfolding is best understood visually. Watch this Asus video:
