Next-Gen iPhone Details Leak (?)

Details on the rumored (and expected) new iPhone have leaked, via what the BGR says is a 100% confirmed "high up" source in AT&T.

According to the source, the new iPhone will be announced in June, Ahem, announced, guys. As I've been saying for months, Apple always announces then ships iPhone models, so we have time to drool. That would mean, maybe a August or September launch.

Unless they turn around and announce the new version sometime soon, so we can get our hands on it in June.

Additionally:

  • The new iPhone will have a faster, more seamless experience. Pretty vague.
  • A U-Verse iPhone application will allow you to control your AT&T DVR (if you're into U-Verse, that is)
  • The annual iPhone launch is "becoming a tradition." (no duh)
  • Faster 3G
The report goes on to state that the new iPhone will close the gap on capabilities with AT&T's higher-end devices. What that means is unknown, but I would guess:
  • Video recording
  • Higher-resolution camera
  • More memory
  • Tethering
  • Micro-SD (oh, come on, why not?!)
  • BGR is betting on a slide-out keyboard; I hope not, myself. I hate slide-outs.
All I have to say is: let's make sure we can order online, eh AT&T (and Apple). I don't want to stand in line like last time.
