AT&T Sells Out of Pre-orderable iPhone 3G S Phones

Wait too long, and you might miss out. It seems that AT&T has run out of its allotment of pre-orderable iPhone 3G S phones. According to reports, anyone who hasn't yet placed a pre-order with AT&T will have to try waiting in line, because any more orders will miss the June 19th launch date.

On the other hand, why are you guys ordering from AT&T at all? Head on over to Apple's store, and at the time of this writing, you can still get it on June 19th with free shipping (click the above image to enlarge).

Of course, that's probably not going to last long either. But there's no issue if you order now. However, the AT&T sell-out is a good sign for Apple. Some feared that the upgrade fees for pre-existing customers might hold down sales. Apparently not, though there's no way of knowing how many orders are new customers and how many are upgrades.

Besides Apple and AT&T outlets, Best Buy and Walmart locations should also have the iPhone 3G S for sale on June 19th, albeit with much smaller stock and regular store hours.
